Fiorella Bonanno, the wood becomes artwork

She was born in Palermo with art in her DNA: both parents are artists (her father is the famous contemporary artist Totò).

Fiorella Bonanno fell in love with graphics and pictorial decoration when she was still a child, passing whole days in the ateliers of the parents. After art school and the Academy of fine arts, she started to work in the field of restoration and decoration.

In 2011 she opened her workshop Kimano with her friend and co-worker Roberto Atanasio in the historical centre of Palermo. The name was not chosen at random: “Ch’i mano” comes from Sicilian dialect and it means “with your hands”.

Among the protagonists of Cersaie 2015, Kimano firm develops draft for the decoration of interiors of apartments and show rooms combining tradition and design.

Fiorella Bonanno also works on objects only in appearance anonymous or “forgotten”, and she transforms them into pieces of art. Now she is passionately dedicated to the study and reproduction of typical Sicilian décor wood, keeping alive the artistic traditions of his homeland.
